This year, I’ve been trying to start making as many things at home as I can. It’s been so fun and I just love knowing exactly what’s in my foods and how they’re made. So, last summer, I started making my own nut butter at home! I was always intimidated by it because I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to make it and if it would be as good as my favorite store bought brands!
This recipe is the first nut butter that I made, but there are four more that I’ll be sharing soon! I’ve got to say though, I think this one is my favorite. My go-to way to enjoy this nut butter is with a sliced apple or some pretzels.
This Cocoa Date Pecan Butter is a combination of dates, pecans, cacao powder, and a few other star ingredients that come together to create the best sweet flavor! As far as texture goes, this nut butter is not super oily, it definitely has a thicker, spreadable texture, which is my personal favorite!
This nut butter should be stored in the fridge!
Ingredients You’ll Need:
- Pecans
- Pitted Dates
- Vanilla Extract
- Sea Salt
- Water
- Cacao Powder
- Coconut Oil
What You’ll Need:
- Food processor
- Mason Jar
- Measuring spoons and cups
- Rubber spatula (if you have)
Storage:
- Store this nut butter in the refrigerator!
